Introduction

EVD strives to provide the highest quality technology in simple to install, easy to use packaging.  The VC-1 demonstrator exemplifies this philosophy, providing the benefits of sophisticated image enhancement techniques in a truly "Plug and Play" package.

Of course, real world conditions vary widely, and the ability to tailor any video processor's output to specific needs is a critical one.  The VC-1 demonstrator accomodates this need at two levels: changing the Power-up Mode Settings, and Storing Custom User Settings.

This section describes the steps necessary to select VC-1 Default Power-up Mode Settings.  Use the scroll bar at right to view each page's entire content and the menu buttons in the "LINKS" section at left to view all documents. Note the entire instruction set is available for download in PDF format.

VC-1 Power-up Mode Settings

When the VC-1 Demonstrator is powered on, it automatically loads the Default settings.  These settings persist when the unit is powered off, and remain in effect until they are changed as described in this document.
Operating Mode
To facilitate the demonstration process, the VC-1 provides the ability to operate in one of three modes, as defined in the following table:

Table 1: VC-1 Operating Modes
Mode Description
Full Screen The entire display screen is enhanced per the current LEVEL setting
Split Screen the RIGHT half of the display screen is enhanced per the current LEVEL setting, while the LEFT half of the screen shows the original, unenhanced video
Bypass The entire display screen shows the original, unenhanced video

Enhancement Level
In addition to the operating modes defined above, the VC-1 may be set to one of three pre-defined enhancement levels Low, Medium, or High.  As the names imply, these three settings offer increasingly strong enhancement of the incoming video signal.  The selection of which setting to use is dependent upon the application and desired results.

Selecting the desired Default Mode and Enhancement Level is a simple process, and is outlined via the step-by-step instructions included in this document.
