The VC-1 video enhancement processor represents the first in a family of highly
sophisticated real-time enhancement solutions for a wide array of market
applications.
The VC-1 has been designed to offer deceptively-simple operation: within the
“plain brown wrapper” packaging is a high-speed processor which performs
large-kernel adaptive contrast enhancement, yielding results previously
obtainable only with off-line, single-frame techniques.
The VC-1:
-
increases contrast without causing
saturation,
-
produces a clean, natural-appearing image containing increased clarity and
apparent resolution
-
operates in real time at full video rates.
Video connections
The VC-1 is very simple to install, sitting
between your video source and display.
Simply disconnect the cable running to your display and connect it to the
VC-1 input connector. Next connect
the provided cable from the VC-1’s output connector to your display’s input.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Some units do not include labeling on the top
or rear covers. On such units the
video connectors may be identified as follows (as viewed when looking at rear
panel):

That’s all there is to it: your VC-1 is now
ready for operation.
Power
Turn the unit on by setting the front-panel
power switch to the ON position as shown below.

The VC-1 contains a lithium-ion rechargeable
power source, and includes an AC-powered charger.
With a full charge, this supply provides enough power for up to four
hours of continuous use.
Checking Charge State
To check the charge state of the rechargeable
supply, press the Test Charge button accessible on the bottom panel of the VC-1
enclosure as shown in the photo below.
The number of lights which light while pressing the button indicate the
estimated percentage of charge currently available.

Recharging the Power Supply
Locate the included AC charger, and connect
the output connector to the charging port on the VC-1 as shown in the photo
below.
Plug the charger into a suitable AC wall
outlet. Charge time for an empty
battery is approximately 3 hours.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The VC-1 may be used normally while the
battery charger is connected. The
charger provides enough current to both operate the VC-1 as well as charge the
battery (though charge time will be extended).
